Is there a catch here??? Well, not really but these daggers need a little care and attention, and are certainly NOT mint!! However, they are both 100% original and if you like (and a lot of collectors do) finding untouched pieces, then perhaps these are for you. The RAD Officer is by Carl Julius Krebs and has a very decent blade. the exterior shows exposure to moisture at some time and the plating has suffered accordingly. the celluloid grip plates have cracked (common) but are still intact. The scabbard has some of the plate lifting over the surface and there are some dents to the surface. the RAD Hewer is a decent example by BOKER. Again it has had a hard life but is complete. The stag grips are a good colour, one has a hairline crack, but not noticeable. Both screws are present. The scabbard is steel and again has some plating lifting on the upper and lower fittings, but all screws are present. The black painted center has lifting to the paintwork but again is completely original. The blade has been over polished so the RAD motto is rather feint, but still readable. The Carl Julius Krebs trademark is on the reverse riccasso.
If you want to play with these and improve them a little, then be my guest, but the price of BOTH is less than the price of ONE good RAD Hewer!!!!! In addition these are both by the same manufacturer.
