VERY RARE ORIGINAL HITLER YOUTH LEADERS DAGGER BY E.F. HORSTER.

Perhaps, apart from Honour pieces, the rarest of the Third Reich daggers. I’ve only ever owned 4 and have kept one myself! There were also only two manufacturers of these dainty daggers, Eickhorn and Horster. Both virtually identical, but with subtle differences. This is the slightly more ‘common’ (if you can use that word with these!) made by EF Horster. Introduced in 1938 for Hitler Youth officers/team leaders. These are quite a small dagger compared to an army or a Luftwaffe piece and measures 14 1/4 “ overall. These are incredibly light and ‘dainty’, hilt etc is made of an aluminium alloy and then silver plated. The grip is a wood base and the wound with very thin silver wire. The pommel cap is held onto the grip with 2 silver pins (on the Eickhorn it’s one pin). The top of the pommel cap features a Hitler Youth diamond cast into the metal. The scabbard is covered with dark blue/black Morrocan leather and has two suspension rings for the hangers. The top scabbard fitting feature the Hitler Youth eagle symbol and has a swastika cast into its breast.
The nickel plated stiletto blade is in mint condition!
One one side it has the HJ motto ‘ Blut und Ehre’ deeply etched into the surface. The other has the RZM number for Horster M7/36 as well as a large RZM Circle above it. Leather on the scabbard is virtually mint and there is very little age to any of the fittings anywhere. This is a REALLY nice HJ leaders dagger in prime collectable condition.
