LONG FIREMAN DRESS BAYONET BY EICKHORN.
Jo really a bayonet as Firemen didn’t have rifles! However, they have been called bayonets for as long as I’ve known. They are in fact parade ‘sidearms’, as there is no mortice slot or button.
This is a long type and in very nice condition. The nickel plated hilt, with up & down swept crossguard, is in mint condition, as are the chequered grip plates. The scabbard has all the original black paint and is virtually mint apart from a small area of spidering to the paint surface. The long nickel plated blade is stone mint and mirror bright. The riccasso has the stamped Eickhorn trademark used from 1935-41.
