A MINT EXAMPLE OF A RLB OFFICERS DAGGER BY ERNST WITTE WITH MATCHING MINT STRAPS.
I can’t remember having a RLB 2nd Pattn officers dagger in as good condition as this. It’s quite amazing, and if condition is your thing, then this dagger will push all your buttons!! This one is by Ernst Erich Witte who use the diamond trademark KRONECK etched to the blade. This trademark is quite lightly etched and on nearly all the daggers I have had by them, is quite faded. Not this one! The blade is in mint condition with all crossgrain polish and the trademark is as clear as the day it was applied! This dagger used the aluminium crossgusrd and pommel used by Witte. It’s in perfect shape with all all the original aliminium anodised coating present. The leather covered grip is as new!! 100% perfect. No damage, no scuffs. The RLB star insignia is pinned to the middle of the grip and apart from some very slight surface scratching to the enamel swastika is in mint condition too. Scabbard matches the rest of the dagger. Perfect dark blue/black leather with perfect upper, lower and middle fittings thst have 100% of their original plating. The blade I have described above. A stone mint example. Accompanying this dagger are its original leather hangers. Like the dagger, these are amazing and are in MINT condition. Leather is perfect, supple with no wear or damage whatsoever. All buckles and clips, including the unique pebbled top belt clip, have all their original silver wash finish. I cannot praise the condition of this dagger highly enough. I’ve no idea where it’s been all these years, but it’s been looked after and cared for. You will not be disappointed.
