A REALLY ‘PRIME’ EXAMPLE OF AN EARLY 1st Pattn LUFTWAFFE DAGGER BY SMF.

Designed in a similar manner to the Luftwaffe swords. The downswept crossguard wings are a direct copy from Medieval swords and daggers.
This 1st Luftwaffe dagger is a real beauty. All solid nickel fittings, which are in perfect condition, have just gone a little yellow with patina and age. The swastikas on the crossguard and pommel are inset brass, and the pommel ones even have the silver portion to the background! This is usually polished away and lost to time. Grip leather is MINT. Dark blue Luftwaffe colour with no damage and perfect triple twisted wire wrap. Scabbard and scabbard leather are in the same mint condition and there are NO scuffs, dents or damage to the leather surface. Solid nickel chain and belt clip, in perfect order. Very nice chain assembly. Blade is the plated variety, as most 1st Lufts are. It has a perfect, unblemished surface, mirror bright with no lifting or damage whatsoever. Original blue lesther washer is in place. The SMF seated King logo is etched into the riccasso with a very small Waffenampt stamp above it. A lovely example.
